Privacy Policy — BD Bulk SMS Add-on for Google Sheets™

BD Bulk SMS provides a Google Sheets™ add-on to automate sending SMS messages through the BDBULKSMS.NET API. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Add-on accesses, why it accesses that data, how the data is used, how long it is retained, and how we protect your information. This policy is written to meet Google Workspace Marketplace requirements and the Limited Use & API Services User Data Policy.

1. Information We Access

Spreadsheet data (required): We read only the rows and columns you explicitly select (phone numbers, message text, and any columns used by templates) in the active Google Sheets™ spreadsheet to prepare and send SMS messages.
Local configuration: API tokens, user preferences, and template configuration are stored locally using Google PropertiesService (or comparable local storage) tied to the user's account for convenience.
Control panel storage: SMS text and logs may be stored securely in our control panel for billing, reporting, and history. Access is restricted to the authorized user only (protected by OTP and IP-restricted login).
No other Google data: We do NOT access Gmail messages, Google Drive files (other than the sheet data you allow), or any unrelated Google account data.

2. OAuth Scopes and Why We Use Them


    https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets — Access the active Google Sheets™ spreadsheet to read phone numbers, message text, and any columns required for sending SMS.
    https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui — Allows the add-on to display UI elements (sidebar, dialogs, menus) in Google Sheets™.
    https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.external_request — Required to send SMS via the BDBULKSMS.NET API securely.
    https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.scriptapp — Needed to manage installable triggers for automation (e.g., on new rows or edits).
    https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email — To identify the user’s primary Google Account email for authorization and logging purposes.
    https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.profile — To access basic profile information (name, public info) for personalization within the add-on.

Important: Only request scopes necessary for the add-on's functionality. We do not access unrelated user data.

3. How We Use Data

Spreadsheet data is used only to read recipient phone numbers and message text and to send messages via our secure API: https://api.bdbulksms.net/.

Data stored in our control panel (SMS history, logs, billing records) is used only for billing, delivery reporting, and allowing the authorized user to review past sends. We do not use spreadsheet data for advertising or profiling.

4. Data Transmission & Security

All transmission between the add-on and our servers uses HTTPS (TLS) encryption.
API tokens and sensitive credentials are stored encrypted at rest on our servers and in the user's Google PropertiesService where applicable.
Access to the control panel requires OTP verification and is protected with IP-restricted login for authorized users.
We apply access controls, logging, and monitoring to detect and prevent unauthorized access.

5. Data Retention

Spreadsheet data: Not retained after processing unless explicitly requested for storage or logging.
Control panel logs & SMS history: Retained securely for billing and reporting; deletable upon user request.
Configuration & tokens: Stored until deletion by user or add-on uninstall; OAuth tokens revoked if access removed.

Shared only when required to deliver messages (SMS gateway provider) or as required by law.

7. User Control, Consent & Deletion

Consent: By installing and using the add-on you consent to this data usage.
Revoke access: Revoke the add-on at any time from Google Account > Security > Third-party apps or uninstall it.
Delete data: Request deletion of control panel data, templates, or logs via support; we delete promptly.
Export: Export logs or history from control panel prior to deletion.

8. Limited Use & Google Policy Compliance

Only minimum Google data needed for functionality is accessed.
Data is never used for advertising, remarketing, or unrelated profiling.
We disclose data collection, usage, and retention clearly.

The add-on uses the BDBULKSMS.NET API to deliver SMS. Please review BDBULKSMS.NET's privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party practices.
